Mia: My Canine Sidekick in Need of Help 💛
Mia has always been more than just a pet – she's my loyal sidekick and best friend. She's been by my side through thick and thin, and now it's my turn to be there for her.
Mia is a gentle and happy girl who has a special talent for making friends with everyone she meets. If you're scared of dogs, Mia knows exactly how to handle it. She won't jump or bark; instead, she'll patiently lie down and wait for you to feel comfortable. And if you don’t approach, that's okay – Mia never holds a grudge.
Her favorite activity is walking in the woods, a routine that keeps both of us happy and healthy. But don’t be fooled by her breed – Mia is no typical cocker spaniel. Fetch and agility? Not her thing! Mia’s only interest is being loved, cuddled, and taken on long, peaceful walks. 💛
Unfortunately, Mia needs urgent dental work that isn’t covered by her insurance. I’ve spent my savings on her care so far, but the situation has become more dire. Her dental issues have worsened, and she's now in pain when she eats. I’m doing everything I can to manage her pain with my vet’s help, but her insurance has maxed out for pain medication, and I’m paying out of pocket for that as well.
The journey to diagnose her has been long and costly. At nearly 11 years old, Mia needs additional blood work to ensure she's safe during anesthesia, further raising the costs. The dental procedure itself is priced per minute, with costs potentially increasing depending on how long the work takes.
The total cost for her treatment is estimated at £2,211, not including what I’ve already spent on diagnostics, pain meds, and ongoing follow-ups.
I’m at a point where I need to ask for help. Mia deserves a chance to live pain-free and continue bringing joy to everyone she meets. The alternative is something I can’t bear to think about, especially when I know she can get the treatment she needs.
If you can contribute, or even just share Mia's story, it would mean the world to us.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping my girl get back on her paws. 💛
