Story
Thank you for visiting the fundraising page for Amos Chipperfield.
Amos, who we all knew as ‘Mossy', was such a huge presence in so many of our lives. He was the ultimate friend, party starter and sweetest little boy who passed away very suddenly on the 4th of April 2023. Mossy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in March 2023 and was undergoing treatment to fight the awful disease. Mossy went through multiple chemo treatments, surgeries, and hospital stays in such a short time frame and everyone, including the medical staff were optimistic for his recovery.
Mossy’s passing was such a shock for his family, friends and local community and has left such a huge hole in all of our hearts. We all miss him dearly but we can do something to keep Mossy’s memory alive!
We are collecting donations to go towards a lasting memorial within Mossy’s school, Squirrels Heath Infants. Everyone that knew Mossy has great memories of him, in so many cases Mossy is dancing and generally full of beans! His love of music and drawing was clear and we would like to have something within the school playground that represents Mossy’s personality as well as brings joy to all current and future pupils of the school.
The aim is to try and raise as much funding to allow Mossy’s family: Charlotte, Nathan, and little sister Aria to choose an outdoor play item(s) which can be installed within the school grounds.
Any donations to help fulfil the wishes of Mossy’s family would be greatly appreciated.
Amos' friends would also like to join in, in raising funds for his playground memorial. Amos' friends and year group are completing a 'Jump for Amos!' challenge! The children in Year 2 of Squirrels Heath Infant School will be doing 500 star jumps each to help us reach our ambitious target! Charlotte and Nathan have decided on a musical memorial for in the playground, with lots of different instruments to play and dance along to. Amos loved music and dancing so it’s a perfect way to keep his memory alive. The children are very excited to help make it happen and to have something more permanent within the school to remember Amos by.
Mrs White, the head teacher at Squirrels Heath Infants, said - "Amos' bubbly personality and passion for learning is greatly missed by his classmates, teachers, and friends. We are looking forward to participating in this fundraising event that will enable us to create a lasting memory of a very special little boy."
We just want to say thank you, little squirrels, for rising to the challenge, and we wish you all the best with all those star jumps!! 😊
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit of Mossy’s story.
Amos is and always will be the ‘Mighty Mossy’.
