    Story

Millie is an 8 yr old German shepherd came to me as a foster dog in October 2016, she had been handed into kennels by her owners.
she spent several months in kennels where she became distressed and started to
loose weight over a short amount of time she looks and acts more like a two year old. she has boundless
    energy
i picked her up from the kennels and took her straight to the vet were she was
kept overnight and put on antibiotics and fluids as she was so underweight and
they suspected an infection , when i got her home i started to build her up
millie turned into a delightful dog with some extremely comical aspects
unfortunately she has had some health problems that seem to be ongoing and was admitted to the vets she has had many courses of antibiotics anti inflammatory and anti acids she had been bringing her food back and when she barked her mouth bled she had a hoarse bark and after gaining weight started to loose it again as food was not staying down , she underwent x rays and blood tests with nothing apparent showing up so again was given antibiotics etc
in the space of a few days she grew worse and again went back to the vets where they did another X-ray which showed an abnormality and meant that she needed an exploratory operation to investigate.
After checking her other organs, they found that her gallbladder was distended and taut to the point of bursting.
They drained 75ml of nasty looking sludgy fluid from it and fully expected to find a gallstone in there once empty but there wasn't any obvious cause of this build up.
A sample has been sent off for testing to see if it is a bacterial infection, we will know next week.
Poor Millie is staying overnightat the vets for monitoring and pain management ,
the overnight visit has turned into 3 days and now she has the new problem of regurgitating water which they have said is now a problem with her esophagus . the fees continue to rise and costs are so far quoted as being around £2,000

So she got petted she decided that wasn't enough so she laid on the floor rolled on her back groaned wiggled a bit and gave me a manic grin as she does couldn't help but burst out laughing at her .she's now back to her cuddly self laid beside me on sofa having cuddles . It's such a relief to see her back to the way she was before all her problems at last can now breath a sigh of relief . A big thank you to everyone for all the healing thoughts sent her way and all the good wishes.and fund raising to help GSDR pay he vet bills .

Definitely getting back to normal millie has been full of mischief today! She's chased the hover barked at the neighbours dogs and when I was trying to cook dinner she brought her toys one after the other for me to throw for her when that didn't work she stood on hind legs and put her front paws on the worktop along with her head and gave me puppy dog eyes!

Millie minx has been good today again not eaten as much as yesterday but still eating well. We had a glimpse of the cheeky minx earlier today she had me kinked with laughter she wasn't in any rush to eat her dry food till I put the vac near her dish. Then she gobbled it down in two shakes . She must have thought the vac was gonna steal it . Great solution to making her eat follow her round with the vac lol. I managed to change her out of the romper suit and into the thunder jacket which covers her wound
