Dalal is a Syrian girl currently living in Turkey with her family, who was badly burned in a tent fire in a refugee camp in 2021. Her story was documented by Sky News and caught the hearts of thousands of people who donated to her cause. I set up the original justgiving page where together we raised over £80,000 and the funds were used to break the family out of poverty. We used the money to purchase new ID for the family and get them out of the refugee camp and over the border into Turkey. We supported their monthly living costs, and eventually bought them a car and then an apartment! Their lives have truly been transformed.

28/09/25: Dalal's Father has reached out to me asking for help as they enter a new phase of medical care for Dalal. Dalal is now 5 and a half years and she has to stay in Ankara (a 5-6 hr drive away from her mother and siblings) with her Father for 3 months at a time whilst she receives intensive laser treatment on her body and new surgery - including surgery on her hands to try and open up her fingers. During this time, her Father is unable to work to support the family as he has to to look after Dalal, and her mother has to stay at home to look after the rest of the children. Dalal will be receiving continuous medical care for the foreseeable future.

Due to limited funds, Dalal and her Father are currently staying in a cancer care unit, a room sharing with 2-3 other patients - provided for by the hospital. Her medical care is being funded by the treatment centre but this does not extend to the family's living costs so we are appealing for help again.
