Weʼve raised £2,393 to Commission a local artist to design and make a permanent external sculpture to remember and celebrate the life of Miss Louise Greasley.

Funded on Wednesday, 7th September 2016

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Following the wishes of both staff and students we would like to commission a local artist, Jason Heppenstall, to design and make a permanent external sculpture as a lasting memorial for Miss Louise Greasley. The sculpture will be sited in the grounds of Hinde House School and will be a focus to help remember and celebrate the life of Louise.

Following an initial design meeting with Jason and taking inspiration from Anthony Gormley’s ‘Angel of the North’ it was decided the sculpture would be based on a life size angel, standing over six feet, abstract and figurative but not following any traditional religious image. To give you an idea of the art work Jason has produced in the past you can view his webpage at

The sculpture will be made out of reclaimed mild steel and when complete sprayed with a specialist clear lacquer which will protect it from the elements as well as enhancing the sculpture’s texture and patina.

My daughter Imogen was in Louise's daughter Elin's reception class. I didn't know Louise very long but she helped me out having Imogen for a play date. I think epitomises Louise, always helping others
