Morence Mpora was educated by missionaries and passionately believes in the value of education. The Mpora Rural family home is a community based organisation supporting the poorest children and families in the region. there are two schools on site but recent flooding has catastrophically undermined the sewage system. This renovation work aims to provide clean water and an improved sewage system to prevent children contracting dysentery and diahorrea so that they can learn in a clean and healthy environment.
I met Morence when I was travelling around East Africa and have been back several times to visit the amazing children there. it is such a happy place and Morence has proved really resilient, coping with some terrible events in the past, such as when rebels arrived in the 1990s, as well as malaria and yes, OFSTED inspections!
