We are a Community Interest Company called "Muddy Boots Ground Care CIC" based in Stourport on Severn.

We set up on the back of a local charity going into administration after 20 years and I worked for that charity for 12 of those years.

We were like a little family and the service users and staff were devastated so I made a promise to those service users that we will stick together and I used my redundancy payout to purchase what equipment I could from the administrators.

Change to someone with a learning disability and or mental health is a major event as many of them had built up good relationships with one another and there was limited choices in the area of where to go and continue with the same work they had already been doing.

We created Muddy Boots Ground Care CIC and carry out grounds maintenance Monday - Thursday and on Fridays we have a Farm Day where we work the land by way of market gardening, taking produce to market to sell, looking after livestock and small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs and working on activities of daily living like cooking, shopping, and basic computer skills.

With all of the above in mind these activities are only carried out during the spring, summer and autumn. The farm is paying to convert one of their barns into a woodwork room for us to use during the winter and rainy days to make items we can sell to the public to put money back into the project.

We are looking to raise funds to kit out the woodwork room for our service users buy purchasing all the relevant woodworking hand and power tools needed to make things like wooden planters, bird tables, bug boxes and bird feeders.

I am very passionate about what we do and being a new venture we do need a little bit of help to get us on our way with the woodworking side of things so please even if its just £1 it all helps.
