Story
Laikipia and Northern Kenya have been experiencing a drought for the last few months. With grass becoming dry and sparse, the animals that rely on it for food have been devastated.
One of the hardest hit has been the buffalo. Mugie was previously, renowned for a robust population, with some of the most beautiful beasts and most impressive horn spans, in Northern Kenya. Now many buffalo are dying from starvation as they compete for grazing with cattle and other game animals.
We, at Mugie, have been doing our best to feed as many buffalo, impala, gazelle, oryx, hartebeest, and zebra, as we can with hay, pellets, and mineral salt. But we must do more and need your help!
We invite you to join us in supporting and conserving these precious animals. A contribution of just 390/- ($4) buys one bale of hay feeding one buffalo for one day.
With gratitude,
Josh and Donna and all of us at Mugie
