I have just become a First Responser for North West Ambulance and am raising funds to obtain a further first responder kit for the Oldham area

As a Responder we attend on behalf of north west ambulance emergency calls to provide life saving support until the ambulance arrives at scene

Being based within the community we can arrive at scene really quickly and start life saving treatments

As First Responders we give our time for free and are all volunteers

We never replace an ambulance attending an emergency call and an ambulance is always dispatched to the scene however as we can arrive sooner than the ambulance and minutes can be vital to save someone's life

Our kits are funded by charitable donations and cost £2500 per kit

At present there are two responders in Oldham and we have one kit between us so our response is limited to one call at a time

If we could fund a further kit it would mean that we can attend more incidents and save more lives

First Responders work in the heart of the community and we appreciate any help our communities can give us to raise funds
