    Story

On December !st 2015 BLES took in 4 bulls who were in desperate need of sanctuary .
They were gaunt, starving and in bad health.
We made an agreement with each owner that we would lease each elephant because we could not raise the money to buy all 4 bulls and they were in urgent need of help.
All 4 bulls have thrived and are a special part of the BLES Family.
Last week,NWON, who is 60 and blind in one eye, was sold to a trekking camp in Surin.
BLES had had no notice of the owner's intention - she turned up with a truck and took him away.
We do not know why she did not tell us she needed to sell him, or,why she did not ask us to buy him - maybe she thought we could not afford to.
BLES does not usually lease elephants - we do not believe that is a solution.
We want to give each of our rescues a very secure and safe future.
This was an exceptional decision made because we are here to look after the elephants of Thailand and give them all a chance for a better life.
We could not turn them away, and we would not turn them away.
Nwon is completely unrecognisable from the bony, aggressive elephant we rescued in december.
He loves to spend his time with 2 of our most beautiful ladies - Pang Noi and Pang Suai.
He has never had a seat on his back - he was a logging elephant
We want to try to get him back and we are making contact with his new owners to begin discussions.
I have based the amount on how much we know the new owners paid for him, assuming they will ask for ( hopefully) just a bit more and will need to include their expenses and then our transport costs plus currency and bank charges.
We do not know that we WILL be able to buy him back, but we have to try.
If it turns out that we cannot buy him back we are proposing to hold the funds collected as a rescue fund for another elephant in the future.
Please help BLES to Bring Nwon Back - BNB
    Thank you

Much awaited update!!! Im so sorry that I have been unable to get online this week - I know how much you are all desperate for news. Firstly, we have received donations via Paypal that total £1000 ( after converting to £££ ) That is AWESOME. Thank you SO, so much. This does mean we have reached our goal of £20,000 in total, but, with recent events- the pound dropping to an all time low, and the current situation in Thailand, both currencies are affecting our true total. Every single penny goes to Nwon's rescue and future @ BLES <3 :)

Happy Memories . . . Nwon was starving and ill when we took him in, in december 2015. He went into musth almost straight away, so he was not around to socialise for 3 months. Once out of musth he lost no time catching up with the his new family and eating all he could all day long! All of the BLES Ladies were very taken with this handsome new bull, but he only had eyes for pretty Pang Noi and the beautiful Pang Suai. What a joy to see them together. His girls are missing him - a LOT. We are at 43% PLEASE - Bring Nwon Back to BLES

This is how Nwon has spent his days since december, when we took him in. He was starving & exhausted, so we gave him a home, but we never "owned" him. His owner has just sold him, without even discussing it with us and he is now in Surin where he will be put to work in a trekking camp. Because we did not buy him we could not stop him from going - that is why we need to raise this money, so that we can negotiate with his new owners and bring him back- where he will be a true BLESele and will always be a part of BLES. THANK YOU for donating
