Neive, aged 5, was diagnosed with embryonal/fusion negative parameningeal rhabdomyosarcoma (RMS), in September 2022. Her care was led from Birmingham Children’s Hospital and she endured nine rounds of intensive chemotherapy & proton beam therapy. Neive commenced maintenance chemotherapy in April 2023 but sadly her end of treatment scans in September 2023 showed disease progression in the brain and spinal fluid.

Neive went home on palliative care to be with her family. She passed away peacefully and gracefully in her own bed on 24th October 2023 at just aged 6 years old with her Mum holding hands and surrounded by unconditional love.

Neive’s mother’s greatest wish is that her daughter is not forgotten. Neive was the most brave, inspirational, and beautifully kind girl.

We want to honour her memory and raise money for Neive’s Arc, which will go towards enabling vital research projects into RMS, supporting families affected and hopefully, one day find a cure.

We have purposely chosen to do the Jurassic Coast Ultra 45km on 18th May because Neive's family and friends have endured an incredibly challenging period. We can never understand the heartbreak they have felt but we felt compelled to take on a difficult challenge as a gesture of support and solidarity.
