Niamh's passion is playing Hockey as a goal-keeper. Several years ago she was encouraged and supported by a wonderful teacher, who recognised her talent, to pursue her love of Hockey, which she did. The normal issue arose - lack of kit a decent kit as the old school kit was broken and mis-match and not that fit for purpose.

Within a short space of time, Niamh progressed well, playing in goal for Truro Junior Hockey Club, then after successful try-outs, played for the Cornwall Team. Since then, Niamh has continued to develop and has received specialist training with Club and County coaches and has moved up to play for Truro Ladies Team, Truro Hockey Summer League Team and now also plays for Truro College as part of the Hockey Academy.

The only downside is the cost of a new kit, which Niamh needs for safety and comfort. The cost of a new kit is about a £1000.00.

Niamh cannot get grants or funding to help purchase her new kit as the majority of charities that did provide grants are not taking new applications and Sport England provide grants to organisations rather than individuals.

With the money raised on her Crowdfunding page, Niamh wishes to purchase a new OBO Cloud Essentials Goalkeeping kit which includes legguards, kickers, hand protectors, carry bag, body armour, abdo guard, shorts, overshorts and throat guard.

Niamh would also like to give back to her community and when she is able to purchase a new kit will donate her existing starter kit to her local school to enable someone else to pursue their Hockey dream!
