Story
As some of you are aware, our Grandma passed away on the 29/02/24 after suffering from Alzheimer’s.The seriousness of her illness happened quiet quickly and was very upsetting to see for us and our family. Alzheimer’s effects 1 in 6 people over eighty years old, but also has a massive impact on those closest to the person with the illness.
Whilst she was still with us I thought of this idea to raise money and awareness for the disease by completing a running challenge.
My grandma reached the amazing age of 91, and achieved so many fantastic things in that time; 7 children, 12 grandchildren and many great grand children. To celebrate each decade I will be running to and from work 9 times in the same week. This is just over 22 miles a day. I will have the support bright and early from Emily in the all the morning runs meaning she will be covering over half the distance with me.
The donations will be split between the Alzheimer’s charity and the Daisy Cafe in Todmorden. Any spare pennies would be amazing, thank you!
