Please let me introduce pug puppy Norburt Niblett.He is 5 months old and as cute as a button!!he looks completely normal,but unfortunately at 4 months old,without incident or injury,he lost the use of his back legs,
When this first happened he was panick stricken,He couldnt understand why he could no longer run or walk.He stopped eating,For the first 4 days he was fed with a srynge to ensure he got enough nourishment,At the end of day 5 we got him eating again and he is now eating well.Although strangely has stopped growing since this happened.

He has been examined by our local vets who are at a loss.He appears to be in no pain,He can still feel his back legs(pain response)but cant stand.
They asked us if we wanted him to be put to sleep.NO.
In the end he was given a course of antibiotics in case of inflamation,to no avail.

Pugs are full of life and character!!
He is adapting to the situation.He can pull himself around with his front legs,plays with his toys,chews the other dogs ears,wags his tail,stamps his front feet and barks when he is excited!!
We take him out and about as much as possible so he is getting stimulation,and he enjoys the attention!!

We are aware that we can only get a diagnosis if we see a specialist who can offer CT and MRI scans,This has a combined cost of approx £2500.This would not include consultations or any treatment if there was any that could be offered,but as least we might know what Norburts up against.It is marvelous what can be done for pets now,but the price is beyond what most pet owners can afford.

If we run out of other options.he will have custom made wheels!!!

We might not find an answer,but we feel we have to try.
