Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
In July 2017, 6 pupils of Norton College are travelling to Borneo, South East Asia to support the local communities and make a difference to the fragile Eco system that exists in that beautiful part of the world.
We hope to pay for our trip through hard work and fundraising, of which 39% will go directly to the communities that we visit and help.
Borneo has a huge problem with deforestation which in turn affects the local people and the endangered orangutan population. Only 50,000 orangutans are now on the plant and their numbers are being depleted at a staggering rate.
Communities face many challenges such as access to education and public health issues and we hope that our visit can go someday to making a difference.
The pupils who are making the charity expedition are Lily Dade, Lily May, Britt Wheldon, Amy Timms, Luca Craggs and James Rogers.
We have plans to fundraise for the next 12 months and events will include car washes, quiz nights, bag packing and much more so please watch out for our local events.
Thank you so much
