Our close friends daughter who is only 14 as just been diagnosed with ewing sarcoma a rare bone cancer. She was complaining of a bad back for 3 months and after endless visits to doctors and a&e, my friend decided to go private as her pain was getting worse. After a mri scan it was discovered that she had a tumor on her back and diagnosed with ewing sarcoma, after being admitted in birmingham children's hospital she had a operation and they couldn't remove most as the tumor is on her spine as it would cause life changing complications. She will need to have chemotherapy sessions to strink the rest of the cancer.
Our friends daughter does not wish to be named as she doesn't want to be treated any different or be looked at different. She is such a strong brave girl who is going through alot at her age. Her mum and dad are spending that much to care and make changes to make life better for her.
Me and vicky have decided to try raise some money for her and her family to them help out.
We are going to step out of our comfort zone and are going to do the following from march 24 to march 25 we are going swim 1420 lengths which is equivalent of 22 miles the distance of English Channel.
Walk well over 1000 miles by trying get target steps done a day and going on country walks. Ian is going do 3 peak challenge Scarfel - Snowdon - Ben nevis. Vic is joining me on a climb and hopefully others will to.
This is a tough challenge for us but want to raise money and to raise awareness for ewing sarcoma and a massive shout out to Birmingham children's hospital.
