Baby Latte is a mum to mum breastfeeding support group. There are times where breastfeeding can be difficult, overwhelming, or problems can arise, and in those times getting the right practical support, encouragement and help finding the right information, is so important. Baby latte is an important community resource and for the last 5 years has been able to help many mums, as well as being the beginning of many friendships! It is somewhere where people can come and know that both trained peer supporters and fellow mothers invest time and care into helping one another on their breastfeeding journey. Experiences, tears and laughter can be shared over a cup of tea (often accompanied by a slice of cake) in a nurturing, empowering environment, and together the right up to date information or source of help can be found, or sometimes the weight is lifted by knowing you aren't alone at what is often a vulnerable time. Our group is volunteer run, by passionate and knowledgable ladies and we have gratefully received donations from people attending which helps to fund resources and refreshments. Going forward we will no longer have government funding towards the room fees, but we are hopeful we can continue the group, as it really does make a difference to many families.
