I've raised £7500 to help support Phil's family with funeral costs to give such an amazing young lad the sending off he fully deserves.

Hi all,
We tragically lost our training partner, coach, but most importantly a beloved friend Phil Zhu on Monday 6th May.
Phil travelled to Wales with his two younger brothers Matt & Andrew for a bank holiday walk up Tryfan Mountain. They had completed the walk to the top, and on their way back down they lost the route they meant to follow.
With this happening they have ended up going from a grade 1 scramble to much worse, it became too steep for them to carry on the descent. Phil being the great big brother he was, leading the way for them to follow as safely as possible, while doing this Phil has ended up stuck and hanging on for his life, while his two brothers watched helplessly, Phil then sadly fell to his death.
Matt & Andrew then bravely composed themselves and called 999, because of the low cloud conditions the helicopter and the several dispatched hill parties could not find them for multiple hours, Matt and Andrew were subsequently roped to safety.
Following this tragic event, we are looking to raise as much money as possible to give such a loved young man the best send-off possible, with all remaining proceeds going to support the incredible work that Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue and the Emergency Services do, for everything they did to try to help Phil and preventing even further tragedy that day.
Phil was just 19 years of age but yet managed to affect so many people in a positive way, he coached at The Combat Unit most days every week, always helping build his students and training partner’s confidence, skill and knowledge. He set an example in every way imaginable.
In his memory we will be sparring for 24 hours.
