Weʼve raised £10 to help Phocas grow flowers for new futures

    Story

Phocas was born from a combination of passions - the growing and promotion of British cut flowers and the urge to pass on horticultural skills to new people, particularly those often left behind by society. The aims of Phocas, in response to these two elements, are founded upon three key, persuasive factors - a renaissance of interest in locally grown, British cut flowers, an unfulfilled demand for skilled horticultural workers and a gap (through which too many fall) in the possibility of sustainable, brighter futures.
Phocas is not just a well meaning charitable initiative aimed at taking people off the streets and away from their problems. At its heart Phocas is a business aimed at occupying a place in a dynamic and growing market and offering a valuable apprenticeship opportunity and long term, stable employment prospects for those who want them.
