Story
For many years local people have realised the danger and difficulty of travelling safely from St Dogmaels to Poppit Sands beach by any means other than by car.
It's a year round problem but especially noticeable in the summer time when we welcome many visitors to the area. The road is single track at many points and there is not enough room for pedestrians, buggy users or cyclists to make their way without dicing with death and danger.
Grwp Llwybr Poppit Path Group was formed recently to take over the sterling campaign work that had been undertaken by other local groups over the years. The current committee comprises Tim Tagg (Chair), Jonny Lewis (secretary), Tom Wells (Treasurer) and Jonny James.
We have been awarded a conditional grant to carry out a Feasibility Study to identify and iron out any engineering and other problems which are in the way of constructing a path. This will also look into costing and funding for implementation. We estimate the cost of this Feasibility Study will be in the region of £21,429 (To be clear, this appeal is just for the Feasibility Study. The full scale implementation of the Multi-Use Path is something that we think may require something like £200,000 or more.) We have been lucky enough to be awarded funding of £15,000 from Europe which represents 70% of the cost, on condition that we can raise the balance through match funding.
In other words, we are looking to raise the balance of £6429 . Please show your support by giving generously to a project that aims to improve the living experience for countless local and visiting people.
We hope to raise all the money in the next couple of months so that we can engage a consultant at the end of this year or early in 2017.

Poppit Path Group
St Dogmaels, United Kingdom
Poppit Path Group wants to make it easy, safe and enjoyable for pedestrians, buggies and cyclists to get from St Dogmaels to Poppit Sands and back. We want to build a Multi-Use path for this purpose so that we don't have to share dangerous narrow roadspace with motorised traffic.
