My name is Julia Idris. For the last 7 years I have been trapped by the horrible illness of CFS/ME (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalopathy) and other health conditions. I am in need of a lightweight wheelchair and power handbike but do not have the means to purchase this equipment.

Unfortunately after a short walk of only 10 minutes with my amazing little Hearing Dog for the Deaf named Paddington I do not have enough energy reserves left to do anything and am forced to spend the remainder of the day on my bed. The only thing I can do to help myself feel better with this horrible condition is to carefully pace myself. This lightweight wheelchair & handbike will enable me to save a significant amount of energy throughout the day resulting in my needing a lot less rest and enabling me to do far more during each and every day of my life.

Before I became ill I was very active and always going for long walks in the countryside, cycling, swimming in the sea, camping out and generally being very adventurous. I have found it very frustrating that my health conditions do not allow me to do any of those activities now. With this equipment I will be able to do proper length walks in the beautiful countryside with Paddington independently giving him the life he deserves and strengthening our working bond. Being out in the fresh air in natural surroundings helps with the depression I experience from this limiting illness. This would mean so much to own this wheelchair & Power handbike to improve my life.

CFS/ME has taken away my energy, work life, social life, health, freedom, much of my independence and with it all the activities I used to enjoy.
