Story

Predannack Anti-Aircraft Battery and Museum is a small volunteer led museum, based on the site of a 1941 pattern Heavy AA battery that defended RAF Predannack during WW2.
Our battery is one of approximately 60 that survive largely intact out of almost 1000 built nationwide, these 60 have been described by Heritage England as being of national importance.
Our 3 core aims are
1. To tell the story of Air defence during WW2.
2. To explain the role that women of the ATS played, making them the first British Women to serve as combatants on the front line.
3. To tell the wider story of WW2 in the area.

We have received local recognition, being shortlisted for 4 categories in the 2023 Cornwall Museums Awards with our volunteer team winning their category against nationally funded competition.
We are now receiving National recognition and have been offered by a National collection one of the best preserved pieces of British Heavy Anti-Aircraft artillery from the 1940's to add to our collection.
We have the skills to install this piece once it is on site but are looking for funding to cover the specialised transport.
This is a fantastic opportunity that will enable us to better tell the story of the men and women who defended our skies during WW2
