Story
THE PROBLEM.
7 out of 10 children in rural Nicaragua do not finish primary school predominately as a result of child labor within the agricultural sector.
Children in rural communities also suffer from parasitic infections associated with poor hygiene, further prohibiting their involvement in school.
Schools in rural areas are difficult to access and lack basic school supplies as well as qualified teachers.
Families live on as little as $3 a day.
WHO IS PROJECT ALIANZA?
We’ve developed an innovative approach to fill the education gap in rural coffee communities by providing quality, comprehensive education on-site at large coffee estates where prevalence of child labor and inaccessibility to school are highest.
$10 provides a school starter pack to get a child in enrolled
$25 supports a student in school for a month
$75 provides two scholarships to keep Alianza teachers in college
$100 supports healthy meals for a year
