RUNNING FOR HOPE

Hope is an amazing little four year old who suffers from Angelman syndrome, which is a rare chromosome disorder; her prognosis was very poor when diagnosed at eighteen months old - her parents were told she would never walk or even crawl, she would never talk or be able to communicate. Yet with stimulation, exercise and a mountains of determination on Hope's part, she is now walking with the aid of a walker and is making limited noises - she can even use an iPad!

To encourage further development, we, her family, want to alter the garage at Hope's home to build a sensory room for her, but we need your help to do it, as it will cost £5,000!

My father (Ken Richardson) and I (Matt Richardson) will be running the Redcar Half Marathon on Sunday 25th September 2016. Yup that's a half marathon! Anyone who knows me, knows that generally if you see me running then you should run too, as something is probably chasing me! But not anymore, we are training hard and putting all of our effort in, all for this amazing little girl, who has changed our lives.

We've set the amount to £1,000 but, in all honesty, we want to raise as much as we can. Ken already has around £1,000 in donations solely from asking his generous colleagues at Newby Wiske Police Headquarters, so we are already one step towards our goal!

So please, if you can afford to give a little, then your donation will go toward supporting and encouraging the development of Hope Lofthouse, as she truly is one of the most amazing little girls you could ever meet.

SINGING FOR HOPE

We are also going to be organising a fundraising event at The Venue in Northallerton, where you will be able to see some amazing performances from some local musicians, culminating in a performance by my Band, The Faded Pages. More info to follow.
