Ridgeway Cricket Club in Ridgeway, Sheffield was formed back in 1883 and has been the heart of the community for many, many decades.

Unfortunately the cricket club is suffering great financial strain after last season when many games were cancelled due to bad weather.

We had a great race night run by the Captain Steve Dudley and the Secretary Jordan Sanderson (who has now stood down from being Secretary) but unfortunately the club has not got enough funds to pay for any future bills payable to the league, Ridgeway Board of Management who we rent our ground from, and at present we don't have enough money to pay the bill in it entirety to our grounds man who did an excellent job this season.

If we cannot raise any money to keep this village cricket club going then the possibility of the club folding could definitely be a possibility.

We are asking any past or present players to dig deep and keep this club going for not only next season but hopefully for years to come.

I never thought we'd have to do this, but it is now a necessity, and this club means to much to me to see it come to an end.
