Iʼve raised £507 to celebrate Rikki's 30th by giving his birthday drinks as cash equivalent to local malawians to set up businesses to make money to buy food.

    Story

It's my 30th Birthday in a few weeks time (19th feb) and as i won't be in the UK this year as i'm based in Malawi, classified as the poorest country in the world, I thought the best way for me to celebrate is to donate the cost of my party, all my potential presents and drinks that i would have had to some of the poor malawians who can use the money to start their own small businesses (it takes $20 to get a small business going). If that's not enough to get you donating, I am putting myself through the extremes of climbing Kilimanjaro at the beginning of February before my 30th.

All Money will go directly in the hands of individuals that I will select who have potential to set up a business or a money making activity rather than giving money to buy food, I am trying to get them to set up a shop/small business to generate income so they can buy themselves food for the foreseeable future.

i have tested the waters and already gave some money to a local who had an idea
    1) Art Gallery - I gave $20 to an orphan who loves to draw pictures so he could buy materials to build a shop to display his artwork, which he has now successfully built (see picture).
    2) Goat - I bought a pregnant goat for $20 for an orphan who is currently looking after the goat and is going to raise the new borns so that he can then breed more and then eventually sell some on for money

The small amount really makes a huge difference to this community of people who cannot afford as little as $20 to get a business going off the ground.

Every one who buys me a drink (aka donates me the cost of a drink) I will send over a photo of where the money has gone, who to and what they have done with it.

    Bar Prices
    1) Beer - £4
    2) Double JD & Coke - £8
    3) Sambuca shot - £5
    4) Apple Sour shot - £4
    5) Tequila - £5
    6) Mojito - £8

I really appreciate all the support and donating the cost of a drink would allow me to celebrate by giving an opportunity to a Malawian desperately in need.
