Story

On Saturday 11th May, Claire, Shelley and I decided to enjoy the sunshine and go for a walk up Rivington Pike. Whilst out walking a young man became unwell and collapsed. He was with his wife and daughter. An ambulance was called whilst members of the public helped and administered CPR. We stayed with his wife and daughter to offer support as best we could. The man was treated by the air ambulance crew when they arrived, but he sadly passed away after repeated attempts to try and save his life, he was only 45. Had there been a defibrillator close by, his life may well have been saved. We hope to raise enough money for a solar-powered defibrillator to be installed outside the Fika Rivington Cafe which is located near the bottom of the steps leading up to the Pike. The defibrillator will be registered with the ambulance service. Please donate if you can, even the smallest amount would be appreciated. Thank you
