Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
The Road2Uganda is a fundraising event that has pushed me to my very limits. Between January 3rd-January 6th of 2017I completed over 4 marathons in 4 days, from the North West to the North East of England. In total, the Road2Uganda was 115 miles long.
I have always wanted to help those who are less fortunate than myself particularly in terms of opportunity, education, and access to basic human needs such as food, water, and health care. I believe the Road2Uganda has given me, and everybody who has donated so far, an opportunity to make a tangible and meaningful difference in enhancing the lives of people in a deprived area of Uganda.
I volunteered in local communities in Uganda from January 14th - February 5th working with disabled children and sports development at local schools. The £4,763.15 ($6,257.00) that has been raised so far has gone towards constructing a school building at Hebron Junior school. This building will house 3 classrooms and will help educate 150 children per term. However, the funds raised so far do not complete the entire building. Not only this, but equipment for the classrooms is also needed. Hence, why any donations will help complete something that will truly create value and make a tangible difference in these people's lives.
In these times of great uncertainty, of uproot and turmoil across many of the poorest regions of the world, it is more important than ever that we look out for others and do all we can to help other human beings.
