Story

We recently lost our beautiful little boy Rowan at three weeks and three days old to a cruel condition called alveolar capillary dysplasia.

Rowan spent the time between two intensive care wards. 48 hours in Derriford hospital, Plymouth and a further three weeks at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

During Rowans stays, the wards provided him with warmth and comfort, this was using items that were donated by other parents.

Although the wards have standard bedding and items provided by the NHS, having some proper blankets, hats, socks, mitts and bedding makes a real difference for the babies and children within the ward.

We are looking to raise enough money to support the children and the staff within the wards and give whatever comfort we can in such difficult circumstances.

Everything donated is also aimed to allow the parents of the children to be involved, choosing bedding for their children, choosing items for their child's comfort and giving the parents involvement while only having limited care and touch with their loved one.

Having all of the items provided, included sleeping aids and other small toys for the children really brightens up the wards and creates a more positive and brighter journey.

We cannot stress enough how much it means to be able to pick some bedding sets and toys in a situation where you are unable to hold your child and have very limited contact with them.

The staff within the wards honestly are unbelievable and it's the little things through donations that make big differences.

We ask you to please support this cause and give everyone involved comfort and love.

Any donation is appreciated.
