Rukupa is a rural village located 2 hours outside of Freetown, Sierra Leone. in 2024, 10 Birmingham Muslim students were fortunate to volunteer in the village as part of an education charity. During this period they were accepted with open arms into the community, living and working alongside the locals and attending their mosque. Unfortunately, this mosque was an old straw amd mud building that was falling down. The cost to build a new mosque is just £6000 and work has already started on the foundations, funded by the students. Consequently, we request the support of our Birmingham Muslim community and friends to help them finish this community building.
