Rhys is a 15 year old boy from pontarddulais. Recently I found out that Rhys has been unwell for some time, with numerous trips back and forth to the doctors. He was sent to hospital for tests, where the doctors discovered a brain tumor. Rhys has had the brain tumor removed and his parents had an agonising 2 weeks wait for the results to come back. Unfortunately the tumor was malignant and rhys has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer.

He is now currently undergoing a 6 week intensive course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy In London, followed by continued treatment at Cardiff Hospital.

The family are going to be seperated for long periods of time whilst rhys is going through his treatment. His younger brother jack has to stay home as he still has to attend school and will be travelling to london on occasion to spend time with his family and to see his big brother.

Pontarddulais RFC Under 15’s have set a challenge to Run, Ride or Row continuously for 24hrs during the Easter Holidays and are hoping to raise money to help rhys and his family through his treatment and to help with travel and living expenses while they have to stay in london for long periods of time, and getting jack back and fore to see his family. The family have so much going on so would like to help relieve the financial worries that would arise being out of work while they fight to get rhys well.
