On the 22nd Jan 2017 I will be attempting to run the Farnborough Half Marathon to raise money for the Farnborough Under 7's Rugby Team. I have recently started running and this will be my first half marathon, so definitely a huge challenge!
Why do I want to raise money for this club? This is the second year, two of my children have been part of this team. They started from never picking up a rugby ball to currently playing in festivals, and even occasionally scoring a try or two! This of course doesn't just happen on its own, if it wasn't for the dedication, patience and commitment of the amazing volunteer coaches none of the kids would have developed into the great team they are today. They are developing their confidence, learning team spirit, and employing a good sporting ethos as well as learning the intricacies of the game. Seeing how far all these children have come on has inspired me to try and raise a few quid to help the team buy any needed training kit/equipment to benefit the current and future players of this outstanding team.
Any money you could spare to help develop their rugby skills or provide kit for this team of 4, 5, 6 and 7 year old children would be hugely appreciated.
