About Paul

I'm 51 years old man who is a self employed window cleaner who set up my own business on my own with one customer in 2016 and now have a great portfolio of customers.

I've been happily married for 17 years to Janine with 2 sons Ethan 14 and Flynn 16.

We have enjoyed lots of great memories together over the years. Our sons have made us proud parent's and still amaze us now.

Janine has been my rock throughout this whole traumatic experience. She has continued to work as a self employed cleaner whilst looking after the boys, house, dog and caring for myself with out any question. Unfortunately she may have to suspend work if I have further treatment to care for me.

I enjoyed cooking outdoors, socializing and spending time with my family. I try and live a healthy lifestyle, I have also never smoked.

My condition:

(note) I had lung surgery in 1980 for a cyst in my left lung which was removed with the lower lobe. I spent 6 months in Great Ormand Street Hospital.

Since November 2022 I was feeling fatigued at work and I was taking Berocca to get through most days. I started a prolonged cough after a covid episode in February 2023 so after steriods and antibiotics twice I was sent for a regular xray. After the xray I was sent for a CT scan on which they found a 56mm mass in the top lobe of my left lung.

My respiratory consultant then informed me that I had to be tested for lung cancer.

After lung function test, endoscopy, PET scans and finally a lung biopsy it was confirmed in May 2023 I had stage 3 advanced lung cancer named Adenocarcinoma which was now 98mm.

It wasn't long after that I started chemotherapy/immunotherapy but after 2 rounds my liver was failing so the oncologist booked an emergency CT scan to see if it could be removed. Unfortunately the results came back showing it had gotten worse than when it started.

All my lymph nodes were enlarged. So 12 weeks after my last chemotherapy session I was sent to The Royal Papworth hospital to have a Mediastinoscopy procedure. Also as one of my enlarged lymph nodes close to my aorta valve I had to be cut open on my right side so they could stage this too.

I am awaiting the results from these to see if they can give me Radical targeted Radiotherapy.

My symptoms have progressed into not being able to socialise, extreme fatigue, skin rashes, memory problems, extreme breathlessness, pain in chest and a cough that is really draining.

I thank you All in advance for your Support & donations
