My Uncle 💙

It’s been a difficult time this past month and no more than for my Uncle Simon, Aunty Tilly, Ol&Alf. For people who didnt know or are yet to hear, my uncle has been diagnosed with MND (Motor Neurone Disease). Devastating for us all to find out. My uncle is a proud and private man and I won’t discuss his health over social media but I’m sure any support people would like to give him directly in time would put a smile on his face!

A Sgt Major in the army, whos served right from Northen Ireland to Iraq. What he’s done for our country while serving Her Majesty will never be mirrored. To say as a nephew I’m proud to call him my uncle is an understatement.

After hearing of my uncles diagnosis I wanted to do something that would make him proud but also I want to raise some money that will help with adaptations they will be having done to the house and also raise money for research into MND. So this is it. I’m road biking (With my cousins, and friends) from Sheffield to Taunton (5th-7th Aug 2022). This will be over 3days averaging between 75/80miles each day.

I’ll be creating a page on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Just to help promote the ride and maybe post a few videos of us in practice. Because I’m sure everyone wouldn’t mind a laugh at a little fat dad in Lycra trying to ride a bike. The page will also have details on the account where people can donate to it. I’ll be using Just giving. Any help will be so greatly received. Once all the money is raised I’ll make my donation to both my Uncle and the MND Research charity. Informing everyone exactly how much we’ve raised.
