In the summer of 2017 I am planning to go over to South Africa for 2 weeks to work on a volunteering programme where I will be caring for wild animals and the community.

I am trying to raise money to give to charities in South Africa that work with animals/people in need of things from food to medical care.

South Africa was once inhabited by many fascinating mammals who are now extinct such as the Cape Lion which went extinct in 1858. The reason behind the extinction of these incredible mammals is due to poaching and lack of habitat. A lot of the time poaches will kill these animals for their fur or horns to trade in a black market.

Last year, 1,175 rhinos were lost in South Africa due to poaching. I think it is extremely important that these matters are taken into immediate consideration and action is to be taken.
If nothing changes, the majority of the next generation will be seeing the last of the Rhino, Tigers, Elephants as each year their remaining numbers are decreasing.

I am asking for any donations possible to be put in this fundraiser so I can give something back to the wildlife/communities of South Africa to try and stabilise the number of these incredibly endangered species.
