Weʼve raised £80 to "Save Parlington" We are raising funds to fight against the destruction of the uniquely historic Parlington Estate & surrounding villages

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered charity.
The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.
The uniquely historic Parlington Estate sits between Barwick in Elmet, Aberford and Garforth in East Leeds. It is currently under threat from a proposed development of up to 5,000 houses.
This green belt land containing ancient woodland and sites of huge historic significance is used by both local residents and those from farther afield for both leisure and general well being. It also plays a vital part in maintaining the character of the surrounding villages.
This crowdfunding site is to raise money to support the ongoing fight against this unnecessary destruction of such an area of importance which could never be replaced.
Leeds City Council have now submitted their Site Allocation Plan to the Secretary of State and the next step is for its Examination in Public, anticipated in October 2017.
Although Save Parlington volunteers have spent many hours researching policy documents, meeting with councillors and attending other Local Authority Examinations, we now need to raise funds so that we can best represent residents and supporters at the Examination by securing expert advice.
100% of all funds raised will be used for the purposes of "Save Parlington" to fight this proposed development in line with our approved constitution and trustee declaration.

Fully behind Save Parlington - we've got a similar battle (although smaller) happening in Rawdon. The very best of luck to you all.
