I've raised £1500 to ✨️Sponsored Skydive✨️ To help renovate the parents area on the unit @ NICU- SGH for parents needing to stay with their Little Warrior's 💜

Hi, I'm Robyn & I work as a ahca on the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Scunthorpe General Hospital, alongside that I am fundraising lead for the unit!
We are a small level 2 unit that can accommodate upto 14 pre-term/term admissions at any one time. Often these babies can at times, be transfered to us from the bigger centre's up & down the country that may be at their capacity. This means, parents/carers can be miles away from home, their loved ones & routine which can be scary in its self without adding a potentially poorly baby into the mix!
We currently have a small parents area located on the unit, this comprises of a small living room/diner, small kitchen, toilet/shower facilities & two bedrooms that we call flats. These flats are a life line at times for parents, enabling them to stay on the unit and be with their baby when they need their parents the most!
Our parents area is extremely outdated & lacking a comfort/home from home feel.
Three NICU staff, 2 nurses & one ahca are being amazingly brave & taking on the challenge of a sponsored Skydive to raise monies to renovate the parents facilities & drag them into 2024, allowing so home comfort for parents at one of the most challenging times in their life!
If yourself, family or friends could spare anything at all to sponsor these brave ladies, we as a unit would be massively appreciative!
The dive will take place in September 2024, the ladies are set & excited to hopefully raise some great funds for our unit to give some tlc to a much needed area!
If you or someone you know has had a baby on the neonatal intensive care unit, please take some time to read our story & share with family/friends!
Scunthorpe NICU Little Warrior's is our new charity that has been set up by a parent who has done her NICU journey & come out the other side with her beautiful boy!
All monies raised will be put straight back into the unit! 💜
