A DAY of celebrations will go ahead later this month to remember a boy killed by a hit and run driver.

Sean Hamilton’s family and friends are celebrating what would have been the youngster’s 18th birthday with a rugby match and a day of events at York Acorn Rugby Club, in Thanet Road, on Sunday, November 27.

Sean was 10-years-old when he was killed by a hit and run van driver in Holgate Road as he returned from the cinema, but his family are determined to remember what would have been a milestone day for him.

Sean used to play rugby and played for acorn rugby club so having the event held at acorn means so much to the family and friends. To thank acorn and to give something back to them all money raised at the event will be going to the acorn rugby club for new kits and equipment what they need.

There is lots happening at the event on the day such as face painting, animal balloons, ambulance, a rugby match, raffle and much much more if you would like to come the event is on the 27th November with the rugby match starting at 12pm.
