Story
As most of you know 2016 has been a very challenging year for me and those closest to me. On April 1st, (I promise this isn't a tasteless April fool) I was taken from the school I work to the Liverpool Royal Hospital after suffering a very rare but very serious problem called a Vertebral Artery Dissection, which is basically a tear in an artery in my neck. This in turn caused a stroke which at 28 was huge shock to us all. Thankfully thanks to the medical staff and the support of my family I'm able to tell people about it. After around 6 weeks in The Royal Hospital I was transferred to the Seddon Suite in St Helens Hospital. On arrival I was unable to make a few steps. Fortunately, I'm much better, far from perfect but much better. On the 2nd of April 2017 (As close to a year as we could) we are planning to do a 10k in order to raise funds for The Seddon Suite, to help people get better who will have been through similar problems as me. Fair enough it will be the world's slowest 10k involving quite a few stops, for my mum and some of the others. But for someone who couldn't make 10 steps in June completing a 10k a year later no matter how quick, will feel like a huge achievement. Please help us raise as much as possible it will be much appreciated by us but more importantly people who are sadly going to be as unfortunate as me in the future. However, I truly think The Seddon Suite really helped me and will help others in the future. No matter how much I raise it will never feel like enough but it will be a small thank you. Thanks for your help.
