Sadly on the 10th of November at around 7am

Sgt Ian Trushell , my beloved husband and father of Eloise , George and Henry, took his final breath. He was loved so dearly and so grateful to you all. We are devastated.

Update 29/09/2024

I have amended the total to show that the goal was reached. We would like to thank everyone for all their help, love and support.

Ian is now focussing on comfort and quality of life. I have been asked to keep the fund open for now but will be assessing this shortly. If you have donated specifically for treatment options and would prefer a refund, please contact us and I will arrange that - no hard feelings and no questions asked.

We love you all and are so grateful

Dear Friends and Supporters.

I am reaching out to share the journey my husband, Ian , is bravely navigating. Diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer in August of 2022, he faces very limited treatment options due to a rare KRAS K117N mutation. The NHS provides palliative chemo, but with recent setbacks, time is of the essence.

Ian, a 24-year veteran of the Royal Air Force, is not one to back down. We refuse to accept the given timeline. Our mission is clear: extend Ian's life beyond the predicted year.

To achieve this, we are seeking funds to introduce Avastin to his treatment plan, a beacon of hope in this challenging journey. we then hope this will give us access to further treatment options, maybe SIRT, or maybe overseas options like TACE or trials over in Germany.

Your support means more time with our three amazing teenagers, our two dogs, and two cats. Every contribution, big or small, brings us closer to rewriting Ian's story.

We are hoping we can rally together and ensure he gets the chance to enjoy more precious moments with his family and continue his service to our country.

It has to be said, during this most traumatic of times for our family, that the RAF itself (who could not have done more to support not just Ian, but us all as a family) and the military community as a whole, have been an immense source of support. We are very lucky to have such people around us.

Thank you for standing with us in this fight for life.

With so much love and gratitude,

Sarah, Ian, Eloise, George and Henry
