7 years ago, Shaun was my healthy husband going to the gym, out on his motorbike playing with the kids couldn't sit him down. He started college to train as an electrician to better our life as a family, whilst doing this he started running and signed up to do the Tough Mudder to raise money for help for heroes as he is ex-military. Sadly, one evening whilst training he felt a sharp pain, heard a pop and felt sick instantly he knew this was bad. In this one day, He lost everything just short time of his life and to this day he did not realise how bad it would become. He worked most of my life. Today he is am a mere shell of what he used to be, 24 hours a day 7 days a week he is in pain. He is on so much medication that I have to give him them or he may take too many as his memory gets foggy and he gets confused. He cant be left unsupervised as he falls a lot and collapses due to pain or the medication. He was such an independent man before he now thinks he is burden to me and our children which kills me, He wakes up every morning with a sense of guilt anxiousness, humiliation. He needs to be helped with most of his day which he hates me doing, He doesn't go out anymore or attend any family functions with his back and leg pain. He uses 2 walking sticks, wheelchair or electric buggy to have mobility but mostly he is in bed. He mentally in self-destruct mode the doctor and pain clinic have done everything they can to no success no light at the end of the tunnel. We've discussed with the pain clinic about severing the 3-4 nerves trapped in his back plus the sciatica nerve. He would have been more than happy to loss his left leg and to also have a better quality of life with us as a family, but was informed by pain clinic that this was not possible. We don't know what the future holds for us anymore and he feels as if he is almost at the end of his road. I just want to tell him it will all be ok get my happy husband back. Please help us get to america.
