Story
REMEMBRANCE PROJECT. I am planning to get a shell reinstalled in the area of Shell Corner, as this is where the name came from for the area which was originally known as the junction. So far I have got the shell donated by a bomb squad in Essex, paint donated by Johnstones paints, art work will be done by Halesowen College, moved from location by local courier company. But now to get the planter a company has gave me a good price of just over £1000 I did try for free. The council dragging their feet on the costs want paying.
Bringing this shell to the area will help remind people of the history of the area and help brighten it up. The planter I have planned to plant poppies in and other colourful plants.
Please help with this project by a donation towards the funds, share this with friends and family to do the same or if you are a company who could carryout some of this work to reduce amount required would be great. Please get in touch cllr.stuart.henley@dudleymbc.org.uk

7 years agoStill need to raise funds for this project. Roughly looking at needing around £3000 to purchase the planter and get it all installed. Please ask your friends and family to donate a small amount to this project. If all the people who had visited this just giving page had donated just £1 the money would have been raised. I am still awaiting on the council to tell me how much it will cost to install the shell but hopefully this will start to move in the new year. £1000 has been promised from the local community forum so need approx £1700

8 years agoThe installations of the Shell to the area is going to be delayed due to council not getting things moving quicker at there end and a lack of communications. Not happy with this as I was told that it would be able to get installed by Remembrance Sunday. The main thins is that I will keep the pressure on to get it completed ASAP for all in the area. I have a local companies designing the planter, cutting the steel and galvanising the end product. Need the money to cover some of the cost that the above companies are unable to do + to install
