Story

This project is for our annual campaign, combining efforts from our volunteer group including Chorley Community Church, Horley Methodist Church and Trinity Oaks CofE Primary School and a number of incredible partners. The money raised pays for all the gifts that go into the Shoeboxes and we then deliver all completed boxes directly to Link to Hope.

Link to Hope use the shoebox delivery trips to identify and visit the most vulnerable and exploited families and individuals, providing a no strings attached gift. They then find out what the community needs and commit to making a meaningful difference, dedicating their resources and building trust through an incredible network of local project managers and community leaders. This campaign is part of their ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian aid and improving access to education and social care throughout Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova and Ukraine.

We have been taking part in the Shoebox Appeal since we were young children and have been running it at Chorley Community Church for over 20 years. It costs us approx £15 to fill and post one box and every penny donated goes towards the gifts and cover the postage - we pay for any admin costs ourselves. We're delighted to be the area receivers for Link to Hope in North London and also partnering with Horley Methodist Church and Trinity Oaks CofE Primary School.

We hope to beat our total of 508 boxes last year and thank you for all your support
