Story
Asylum Seeker - Kurdish-Iranian Reker Ahmed was chased and subjected to a "brutal attack" in Croydon last Friday night.
He was with two friends and making his way home from another friend's house when he was set upon. Police said he was not previously known to the assailants.
The 17-year-old was left with a fractured spine, fractured skull and a bleed on his brain after the assault.
It is hoped he will be moved out of intensive care soon although his face, which police say was the main focus of the attack, will be left with lasting scars. Officers are still trying to contact his family who they believe live in Iran.
Join me in showing this young boy that we really do care and that he is welcome here and prove these attackers who are absolutely despicable that they are the minority.
The donations will help him with his recovery showing him that he is more than welcome and people do care.

7 years agoThank you all so very much for your very kind donations. I have asked Bridey Watson who has amazingly raised £59,006 for Reker if I can send her your donations to put in the Trust Fund she has already set up for Reker so as to not jeopardise his status for staying in the UK. Please see her Just Giving Page for any info: https://www.justgiving.com/.../17yr-old-asylum-seeker... As also mentioned below by Stacie Jayne Goodreid (Facebook) It seems sensible to keep it altogether for him. THANK YOU ......

'He was an open guy, he made his friends happy. 'None of us are going to go back there [to the Shrublands estate where the a

This is shameful and distressing. I hope he heals well without too much bitterness towards this country

I really hope Reker will be OK and be granted asylum, if only to show that we British are not all Thugs and heartless. The UK is a really great country and the majority of it's people are generous.
