Story
Update: we have an estimated cost of solicitors fees now and it is amazing that we will be able to support Kat in paying this. Unfortunately, this wont leave us with a lot in terms of relocating and wont cover loss of earnings or wages of the instructors. Please continue to share far and wide. We realy appreciate the love and support from the entire community.
This is a moving goal simply because we dont know how much that this is going to cost. we are raising to put money towards:
1. Legal fees
2. Moving costs
3. Recovery of equipment and personal belongings
4. Loss of earnings to pay instructors their hard earned wage.
5. Any other costs assosicated with this battle
Thank you for your generosity. It means the world to the entire community. 🫶
Words from Precious one of the instructors:
Ok this is hard to write, but here goes. Siren Asylum / Polefire is currently closed down. This week one of our instructors turned up to work to find the locks changed and a bailiffs notice on the door. We were given no notice, no warning, and were in the middle of renewing the lease. The landlord is ignoring all phone calls. Our equipment and our personal items are all in there and the bailiffs want to charge for access to retrieve them.
Our studio owner Kat is currently seeking legal advice as what they’re doing is illegal. But that won’t be cheap. And it looks like we’ll have to relocate too, another massive cost. Meanwhile the gym, cafe, shop and studio are all closed meaning there’s no income. To put it bluntly, we’re in dire straits here.
This studio has been a part of my life - a part of my HEART - for 11 years now. I’ve been a Polefire poler from when we only had three poles and ran classes from under a local pub in their cellar. I’ve seen Polefire go from strength to strength, and seen the birth of Sirens and put literal blood, sweat and tears into this place. And that doesn’t even come close to what Kat has put into it. She lived in a van at one point for this place ffs. I cannot overstate how much this means to me. Polefire and Sirens has literally saved my life more than once. It’s my income, my social life, my safe space, my home.
Sirens isn’t just a gym or a pole studio. It’s a community. It’s a safe space. It’s somewhere people come to recharge, to socialise, to ask for help, to be themselves or even to find themselves. It’s just so important and so special to so many beautiful human beings.
And now, we need your help. One of our amazing Sirens has set up a fund to help support Kat through this. We don’t know how much legal fees will run to, we don’t know how much relocation is going to be, we just know that we can’t let Kat shoulder this alone. Kat IS Sirens. We are ALL Sirens. And we won’t go down without a fight.
