The semi-nomadic lifestyle of the Masaai has been drastically affected by external influences and they are struggling to adapt. Education is a critical factor and there are a few schools in which a mixed western and traditional Masaai education is being developed to ensure that children can maintain their own cultural heritage whilst learning ways to adapt to the growing external influences that they cannot hope to avoid.
We believe that diverse cultures are critical for the health and well-being of the planet and the human race and that the influence of the western world on others should not be detrimental to their existing indigenous cultures.
As a small contribution to this self-development, we are travelling to Kenya to install solar panels to the school and to provide text books for the children.
We have already received some donations and will be contributing to the fund ourselves, but any additional contributions will be most gratefully received.
