Hello! Thanks so much for stopping by to learn more about this crowdfunder.

A few friends recommended that I set up this page for those who wanted to support our mission but didn't necessarily want to buy art/art gifts from us yet.

I created my business initially just to fundraise for our chosen charity, Autism Early Support - a specialist early years education centre here in Buckinghamshire. It has since expanded and I am now on a mission to create more products for our customers. The funding we receive will enable me to showcase original art in local gallery spaces but primarily to set up the next branches of our product range: our Sonshine Art Creative and Sensory Play Activity Cards, children's book and Board Game.

The Play Cards will be similarly-themed and have on each one images and text including suggested resources/toys/play tools and games, suggestions on how to play and how each benefits the child based on their sensory requirements, personalities and neurodiversities. The boxes and cards will of course be accessible and fun for neurotypical as well.

The book is my latest idea and it's one I'm really excited about. It came about after the Sonshine boys had a spell of creating many wonderful characters and landscapes. We had a chat together about names and personality traits for these characters, hobbies, where they might live, what might happen to them, and I thought - I could put these together into a series of short stories. So that's what I'm doing! Many of the characters will have neurodiverse traits and sensitivities so will be relatable to this greatly under-represented community in art and fiction.

I have designed a few simple board games since my eldest was about 4 years old and this latest version is definitely their favourite. It is a board game with a difference! You design a new board every time using the tiles I created. I will explain more about the game on my website and social media pages in due course. My boys ask to play it all the time. I'm really excited about bringing it into the world. It has been tested over and over my my own children and a couple of families we know and right now it is at the school of Youngest Sonshine for them to test it with a variety of ages and abilities.

A large part of our business is fundraising and is the reason I initially created this business. We hold regular raffles, events and birthday fundraisers to raise money for Autism Early Support, a fantastic early years education and outreach centre here in North Buckinghamshire.

Our business has expanded also to include blogs, videos and social media posts created by me to cover topics relating to creativity, play, parenting neurodiverse children and wellbeing.

The more successful my business is the more generous I can be to our chosen charity, and potentially we have laid the groundwork here for my sons to have careers as professional artists as they enter adulthood if they so choose.
