My name is Nadarajah Sooriyajumar, and I am proud to be representing the Sahana Foundation in the upcoming North of Wales Cotswold Way Challenge on June 22, 2024. I will be embarking on a remarkable 50km walk to raise funds for a truly noble cause.

The Sahana Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of people in Sri Lanka by providing them with better opportunities and fulfilling their basic needs. Inspired by the compassionate care received by the late Sahana Ananth during her final days in the UK, the foundation has partnered with other charities and individual donors to embark on a mission to build a hospice in Chavakachcheri, Sri Lanka.

This hospice will be the first of its kind in northern Sri Lanka, offering essential palliative care services. Its primary aim is to provide comfort, social support, and economic relief to patients and their families during the end-of-life journey. While the land for the hospice has already been acquired, the building work is planned to commence later this year.

One of the critical components of this project is the acquisition of a new ambulance, which will be used to transport patients from hospitals to the hospice. Your generous donations will directly contribute to making this vital service a reality.
