I had a dream that local communities would have their own Pride Festivals, so that everywhere could be part of LGBT Pride. So I went away to create a Southwark festival, virtually single-handed, and with no public funding whatsoever. Now we are a month away from the Festival, and faced with rather more bills than I expected - printing, advertising, performers' expenses, rehearsal space etc. There is a small dedicated team of helpers now, which I am very thankful for, but that alas doesn't pay the bills!

This has all come about because of the really large response of people wanting to take part. We would like to cover all these costs, and also have a small surplus to start Southwark LGBT Pride Festival 2018, which we are already thinking about.
