Each year we spend vast amounts of money on Christmas Cards and after the festive season they end up in people's recycling bins. This year I have decided to do something different and donate what I would spend on Christmas cards to Space.
Let me tell you a bit about me and Space. My name is Lisa and I have a 5 year old son with autism, sensory processing disorder, hyper mobility and moderate learning difficulties. As a parent of a child with additional needs, it can be very lonely and isolating at times and extremely hard work. Space is run by parents who have children with additional needs. This helps as they know how you are feeling and what daily battles you go through as a family. Space have seven support groups through out Hertfordshire which meet up once a month in term time. At these groups there will be a speaker or coffee and chat sessions. Space have regular professional speakers, workshops & seminars, social events plus a library of books to borrow and they arrange family days out. Space has helped me on various issues with my son over the years. There is great support on the space facebook page too. Without this amazing support group there would be a lot of parents and children suffering alone. Space is run by volunteers and is non profitable. So please help me to help raise money for Space so they are able to arrange more family days out, workshops and seminars to help even more families. Thank you ❤️
